Prior to this years convoy the local Central Coast Convoy for Kids had raised over $300,000 thus far - add Sunday's efforts and there is a huge injection of funds to aid our local kids.

Heading the convoy again this year were the fire brigade trucks with horns, sirens and lights leading a line up of an estimated 300 plus convoy participants.

There were reportedly a few directional hiccups but the show still went on. The roads were lined along the way with parents and their kids and just folks who were curious as to what all that noise was about!

The local police were included again and one wonders just how much of a task it is for them for such a huge scale, peaceful representation of our local transport industry.
Patrick Lalor and son Sam in their 11th convoy ride! - whatsoncentralcoast image
As usual in the Central Coast Convoy for Kids was Pat Lalor (his 11th convoy participation) with son Sam in one of the STAR TRACK EXPRESS trucks. Pat's wife Donna Lalor is the spokesperson for the Central Coast Convoy for kids and has been tireless in her efforts with this major fundraiser since her days at The Sun Weekly Newspaper..

Listening to the radio on the morning of the Convoy I was surprised to learn of the cargo Pat and Sam had onboard this year... the one and only Vic Davies from Star 104.5 FM.

Aside from the bountiful promotion during the week, on the day they were doing live to air from the thick of the fun at the Gosford Showgrounds. Star also had face painting for the kids, giveaways and an endless source of entertaining muisc and banter that is Star FM.

Giving out Ashton Scholastic books to lucky kids - whatsoncentralcoast imageAshton Scholastic having mechanical problems were unable to participate in the convoy this year but generously sent along many boxes of a fantastic range of childrens books for the kids attending the festivities at the show grounds...

The fun and activities carried on during the course of the day. Exhibitions from the Fire Brigade, The Army Reserves, appropriately, a hearing clinic and many more. Bike riding demonstrations, stalls of goodies and craft, a very busy cafetreia and of course the Big Boys Toys!

I haven't been able to place all the images here of course so if you were in the convoy or would like to enquire about other images please just ask! Send your enquiry to CONVOY PICS 2007
