THE THE CENTRAL COAST COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL |
THE COASTS OWN TAMWORTH:
The Entrance and surrounding districts will be foot tappin' again to the music from the CENTRAL COAST COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL for 2010.
The festival kicks off on the Friday night and runs through until Sunday evening. With too many acts to list them individually, the focus will be The Entrance outdoor venues during the day, then moving to the pubs and clubs in the evening.
Entry to most of the venues is absolutely free!
For a hint of what is in store, acts over the weekend include Adam Harvey, Beccy Cole, The Chicken Train Skifflers, Craig Morrison and Lucky Starr, Travis Collins, Racz and Waters, The Rough Diamonds, Whiskey River, Julia Starr, The Summerland Kings and many, many more.
To celebrate young, local talent, the entertainment on Memorial Park will be launched with a ‘Youth Showcase' on the Saturday morning. This Showcase will feature talented performers, all eighteen years old and younger!
There will also be buskers scattered throughout the town centre
for you to rest up and relax while you listen to the new stars on the way!
And it isn't just the music that makes this festival so great. There is also a Poet's Breakfast on the Sails Stage on the Sunday morning!
Memorial Park will also come alive with stalls & exhibitions to entertain the crowds, including the Tex Morton museum. For the young at heart there is plenty on offer, with show rides, face painting, temporary tattoos, fairy floss and much, much more.
Please find the timetable for the Central Coast Country Music festival below. Plan your week end and catch as much of the fun as you possibly can. Feel free to print out the the timetable and take it with you to the festival.
Brand New Country Music Festival Event at The Entrance!
Central Coast based singer-songwriter Julia Starr has organized the First Annual Songwriters' Breakfast, to be held at Kenzies Cafe and Grill, on Sunday 14 March at 8:30 AM.
Starr, who lives and works on the Central Coast north of Sydney, hopes the songwriters' breakfast will bring country music songwriters together.
"There are many great songwriters living on the Central Coast. This is a great opportunity for us to get together for an informal breakfast and go through the creative process."
Three established songwriters have confirmed they will pass on their experience - "In the Round" and the show will include songwriting techniques, marketing, recording and copyright.
Julia Starr has over 280 songs written and listed with APRA, two successful album releases with chart success in Australia, Europe and New Zealand. Her latest projects include a musical,
which she hopes will find it's place in production in 2011.
"I am very excited at the prospect of seeing my musical hit the stage. It's such a challenging project, which combines all my talents and will allow a new concept to reflect our Australian Life - The dream of Tamworth. It's my best work so far."
Book in for The First Songwriter's Breakfast at Kenzies Cafe and Grill, situated in the Mall at The Entrance.
Reservations may be made on 4334 6432.
BUSKING COMPETITION:
Buskers will line the streets during the Busking Competition which will be held at the Greater Building Society Central Coast Country Music Festival.
