HILLBILLY HEAVEN :

This is the review you do when you aren't doing a review....

I had been promising myself to get along to a couple of local regular gigs on the Central Coast - one is the LOST DOGS at the Avoca Hotel and the other is the weekly Hillbilly Heaven Live Country nights at the Wyong RSL Club. Both sadly, time of late had not allowed me to do.. until I attended my Aunty Joan's wake. Aunty Joan was on the committe at the Wyong RSL club and the club most graciously put on a wonderful wake.

While my brother-in-law, Phil and I were partaking of some space outside there arrived another who set of the recognition bells - the day being what it was my mind was not good on outer recalls so I put him down in the memory bank as a local muso I had seen around the traps.

There was great music performances coming from the house band and walk ons in tonights Hillbilly Heaven session.
Hillbilly Heaven has had visits from the likes of Beccy Cole, Kasey Chambers and Adam Harvey.
Tonight proved to be another star studded evening with the mystery guest being the WOLVERINES' Darcy LeYear... I knew I knew that face! .

Darcy sang some of the old Wolverines favourites and some of the tracks from the new album GOOD TIMES.

After such a long and draining day I would have loved to have stayed for the whole show but I had to get my poor ol mum back home.

The Hillbilly Heaven nights are a great night out. Wyong RSL would have to be one of the most friendly clubs I have visited in my time doing the Whats On site.

If you love your country music take a trip to Wyong and check the night out for yourself... going by the crowd numbers, many others already know how great it really is.
