Rachel is one of the finest vocalist on the Sydney scene.
Graduated with honours from the Newtown Performing Arts School in Sydney. Rachel honed her skills in talent quest where she was consistently recognised for her unique vocals. Rachel turned professional at 18 and performs regularly at numerous venues and private functions throughout NSW.
Rachel is a a soulful singer songwriter and guitarist that has the ability to connect with her audience.
Performing hit after hit from the 60’s to today's popular tunes. including hits by Maroon 5, Eagles, Adele, Pink, Eva Cassidy, Phil Collins and Dragon and so many more, along with her own originals
In 2007, Rachel released her first, original solo album, “Aperitif,” which was quickly followed by her second solo album, “Live in the Studio” in 2009, which featured solely original tracks.
2010 Rachel joined forces with Eddy Santacreu an outstanding guitarist in his own right, together they gained much interest and momentum and quickly established them selves in Sydney's live music circuit offering an acoustic performance or electric when they add professionally produced backing tracks to produce a full band sound.
Rachel can now be seen performing along side guitar greats like
• Joseph Calderazzo a highly engaging, professional artist when it comes to live music entertainment.
• Eddy Santacreu that will leave any guitar hero Green with envy.
• Alex Whichello a vocalist with a bluesy tone as well as being a gifted guitarist.
The "Rachel Laing Duo" formally known as "Toucan" have established themselves as regulars on the pub, club and entertainment circuit as well as regularly performing at private functions in Sydney and other cities around NSW. With Rachel’s strong confident vocals and accompaniment of a gifted guitarist, "Rachel Laing Duo" will transform the atmosphere of your venue or function with a repertoire that has everything from blues, rock, jazz, swing, and easy listening the duo take requests, engage and are always entertaining.
