The Rebel Rousers are a well established, hard working, longevity 50’s – 60’s Rock and Roll (with a splash of 70’s -80’s classic rock hits) 5 piece covers band.

The band itself dates back almost 20 years. The band is comprised of lead singer, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass guitar and drums.

Since 2010 the band has undergone some line up and repertoire changes and has become a very marketable item, pleasing a wide age range of audiences with their versatile repertoire, great band sound and musicianship, strong vocals and harmonies, stage presence, smart well presented stage set and when required, light show, creating an energetic, vibrant combination of sight and sound.

They are currently booked through 6 agencies and also enjoy very good direct working relationships with many clubs.

Currently the band performs in venues from Coffs Harbour, through Port Macquarie, Newcastle, the Central Coast, out to Tamworth and Albury in the south.

They also enjoy good relationships with a number of Rock and Roll Clubs and organisations including Chromefest (California Cruisin) and the Wintersun Organisation. The band can be expanded to a seven piece (big band) adding keyboard and Saxophone for large auditorium and corporate functions.

They have recorded three albums, the third, "Live and Raw" on The Coast was released at Wintersun Festival, Port Macquarie, in June 2011 and available via the website or at the live shows.

The band has seen a few line up changes over the years for one reason or another, as each new member brings his own experience to the band, the band just keeps on getting better.

Chris Anthony; Lead Vocalist
Chris has 30 years experience in the entertainment business as a Singer / Musician / DJ / Recording Artist. Apprenticeship as Lead Singer and guitarist in bands since the 70’s. Chris has worked with and supported such names as Garry Sweet (Police Rescue) Recording Artist Chris Franklyn, Vince Sorenti and the infamous Carlotta. He has enjoyed great success known as Klassic Blak for many years. Chris has a big local reputation with a big sound.

David Lake; Bass Guitar & Vocals
David is the newest member of the Rebel Rousers. He has played with many Sydney and Central Coast bands before joining the band. David and John provide a solid rhythm section which is essential in 50s-60s music.

Jim Heywood; Drums & Vocals
Jim Heywood is a well known and very well respected local of Avoca Beach. Many locals will remember veteran drummer Jim from his wonderful performances in THE OUTSIDERS, THE ROADRUNNERS, UPRIGHT AND SWINGING and alongside very fine names in the Australian Music Industry.
A music industry guru, Jim is also the author of the Whats On Central Coast exclusive editions of HEYWOODS TALES.
