Whats On logo button SUMMERLAND KINGS:
The Summerland Kings are a versatile 5 piece hard working band based on the Central Coast. They perform regularly at venues on the Central Coast and in the Hunter Region. The Summerland Kings unique style and combination of talents makes them an entertaining, good time live band with a solid fan base on the club/pub and festival circuit with their mix of classic to obscure covers and their own exciting original songs.

The band consists of lead vocalist/musician and Award winning country artist Ross McGregor, Bob Morton, son of the legendary Tex Morton (harmonica, percussion, vocals), Malcolm Wood (vocals/lead guitar, pedal steel, songwriter), Dave Rowe (drums, vocals) and Alan Buchanan on (Bass, vocals) ex member of popular Whiskey River band who joined the Kings in 2012.

The band recorded and released an independent EP in 2008; 'Fade Away', with 4 original songs, gained them good country radio airplay.

In 2011 Ross McGregor released his solo country album - Here To Forget, produced by Rob Wilson, which gained a strong album review published in the Australian Country Capital News Magazine - Nov 2011.
Two singles were released for country radio, Drinking Tequila - CRS CD 154 and What Was My Heart Thinking - CRS CD 151 and Hillcrest CD63.
Both songs gained strong airplay responses in Australia & Overseas.

January 2012: The Summerland Kings performed at several venues at the Tamworth Country Musical Festival to good crowd reactions.
March 2012-Summerland Kings performed at the 2012 Reg Lindsay
Annual Rodeo held at Cessnock Showground with special guest, Bill Chambers to a capacity crowd.

April 1 2012; Ross McGregor receives an Independent Artist 2012 TIARA AWARD for his album single, DRINKING TEQUILA, written by fellow
Summerland Kings member and talented songwriter, Malcolm Wood.

Oct 6-2012 - Summerland Kings, Kristen Lane and country legend, Wayne Horsburgh, perform at A Night With The Stars - Reg Lindsay Tribute Show, held at East Cessnock Bowling Club

Mar 9 - 2013 - Summerland Kings,Wanita and Lucky Starr, perform at 19th Annual Reg Lindsay Rodeo, held at Morriset Showground
