THE BIO |
 THE CREEPERS:
For five years now The Creepers have been playing their unique brand of 50's style Rockabilly to fanatical crowds across the East Coast of Australia .
With their wild stage antics and powerful melodies it's no wonder that The Creepers are fast becoming one of the most popular Rockabilly bands Australia has ever seen.
The Band formed late 1999 by four music enthusiasts with a similar interest in early Rock'n'Roll and the original Rockabilly sounds that came from Southern America.
Clayton Johnson ( Lead Vocals and Rhythm Guitar ), Mark Randall ( Lead Guitar ), Sonny Hinwood ( Stand-Up Drums ) and Glenn Jeffries ( Slap Double Bass ) have put together a show that combines the classic sound of 50's Rockabilly mixed with their own distinct youthful exuberance.
With regular work in Sydney , Newcastle and The Central Coast , the band works hard at giving their audiences what they want, great music and a great performance.
The Bands influences stretch far and wide including classic Rockabilly legends such as Carl Perkins, Glen Glenn, Gene Vincent, Roy Orbison, Eddie Cochrane and early Elvis Presley. Their passion for the genre also extends to newer Rockabilly bands such as The Go Getters, The Satellites (Aus), Go Cat Go, Big Sandy and his Flyright Boys and the legendary Brian Setzer and The Stray Cats.
The Creepers have been one of the major attractions at the 2001, 2002 and 2003 Elvis Festival held at Maitland in NSW.
The band will be one of the major acts at Coolangatta's legendary Wintersun Festival and has won critical acclaim after their breath taking performances at the 2001, 2002 and 2003 festivals.
After the successful release of their first EP ‘All Soled Out' recorded in February 2001, the Band returned to the studio in March 2002 to produce their first full length album titled ‘Monkey Wrench'.
The album, released in June 2002, has concreted the bands positions in the Australian Rockabilly scene.
The band has finished recording their third release titled “Quiff Hanger” and is set for a February 2005 release.
The lure of the 50's era appeals to many with its flamboyant dance styles, classic cars and the beginning of music styles such as Rockabilly and Rock 'n' Roll that would change the world forever. This combined with The Creepers strong performance ‘ethic' is ensuring that their crowds always get an incredible show.
