THE WOODIES - THE REVIEW |
 THE WOODIES:
Christmas is a mixed bag of time, emotion and energies. One of the things I look forward to each year is the annual Christmas party for the Long Jetty Fishing Club. The organisers ought to try their hands at major events! Santa arrives in many different modes of transport, has lots of goodies for all the kids, you get to eat THE FRESHEST SEAFOOD EVER and the music is invariably a great choice from the vast local stables. Oh.. and my grandson won the junior divison.
The mood is relaxed, the bbq and the fresh seafood exceptional and the kids have a ball. The Long Jetty hotel has taken steps to ensure a relaxing family afternoon it would appear.
This year the entertainment was from the musical Craftsmen - THE WOODIES.
The Woodies have a combined playing and performing experience of, well lets say, more than a score (so I can keep the frienships!). These two gentlemen have been on too many stages and played with too many big name performers to mention here. They would be those rare performers to whom you could humm a few bars and they would know the song you mean.
Luckily for them as today they had many requests from the sparkling kids who were there. Jingle Bells, Santa Claus is Coming To Town, and lots more Christmas ditties. For the adults there were excellent renditions of Summer in The City, On The Dock Of The Bay and I'm A Believer to name a few.
The Woodies are one of those perfect Sunday afternoon, family entertainment bands when they are not rocking your dancing shoes off on a Saturday night.
