Australian singer-songwriter Rachel Laing is like a breath of fresh air in a music landscape.

Rachel’s talent was evident at a very early age; she gained invaluable experience performing in talent quests to audiences of all ages. She is now kept very busy performing in Pubs and Clubs from Sydney to the Central Coast, Bathurst, Wollongong and Bowral and each performance has contributed to establishing a growing fan base with out which nothing is possible.

Rachel’s commitment to her craft and her fans has her striving to improve each performance by continually adding to her already diverse repertoire that allows her the freedom to give her audience a taste from every genre from Jazz, Blues to swing/rock/pop and folk along with a sprinkling of her originals.

Rachel has adopted a timeless approach, relying on her undeniable vocal ability and unforgettable live performances to forge a genuine rapport with her audience. Her debut 10 track CD was titled “Aperitif” features tracks like Sunrise, I Hope you dance and, That Don’t Impress me Much, this was followed by “Live in the Studio” a CD filled with original songs, the lyrics expressing her emotional journey through life that has brought her to this place in time.

12 month’s ago Rachel formed ‘TOUCAN” with Eddy Santacreu; Eddy originally from Paris, has received an excellence award from the Paris conservatory and a Gold Medal Award from Versailles conservatory. Eddy has also worked for numerous original artists and cover bands (tours & studio). Since 2005 he has performed 5 European tours with an internationally distributed Australian band, KORITNI.

TOUCAN released self-titled CD featuring popular tracks from their repertoire. The CD is available to download online or an autographed CD can be purchased at gigs.

What sets them apart from other musicians? It’s not only a huge and varied repertoire of familiar and classic hits from 60’s to present day consisting of easy listening tunes through to rock, pop, country, rhythm & blues, jazz and some of Rachel’s original works. It’s also their versatility to switch from acoustic to electric, and always delivering an unforgettable performance with solid vocals and hard-hitting guitar solos.
