COLOUR THEORY - THE REVIEW
COLOUR THEORY: Colour Theory is four-piece rock/pop cover band, founded in 2008 by Lead Guitarist Tim Watson. I was accidentally able to catch these guys live at a fishing competition weigh-in at the Jetty Hotel on Sunday 23rd January 2011 - how lucky! These guys love their work! They are well versed in audience perception and they kept the crowd entertained all afternoon. It was hard to tell if the crowds fun was feeding off the band or vice versa. There were a few U2 tunes and many classic and well known current and trad 'pub songs' which perfectly suited this venue. While there were calls for encores I can only imagine with the changed management new rules were in place. I would love to catch these guys again and can recommend them if you are looking for a versatile, fun and entertaining bunch of musos for your next event.
COLOUR THEORY - THE BIO
COLOUR THEORY: Colour Theory is four-piece rock/pop cover band, founded in 2008 by Lead Guitarist Tim Watson. Based in Newcastle, Tim took on the challenge of assembling a band for a function to be held for charity at the University of Newcastle. The band was assembled and the charity night was a raging success. The band was inundated with more requests to perform and since then have been performing at pubs and various other venues as a solid cover band. Armed with their shared passion for music the band plays an eclectic range of music. Encompassed mostly, are the genres of rock, pop and acoustic covers. Colour Theory is very aware that each crowd is different and will mix and match set lists on the go to suit the particular audience. The boys have been known to play for 3 and a half hours straight if given the opportunity, and have no trouble playing straight covers to a very proficient level or giving the song a twist of their own, if the occasion calls. Colour Theory considers themselves very fortunate to have stumbled across such talented musicians, that share such similar musical taste and strong passion for delivering quality music and believe it is this passion that makes the band work so well together.
