The Red Alert line up has changed from this initial 'pre-view'.

The base band is now...
RUSSELL HULL - Vocals and Guitar
DAVID 'KRUSTY' UNDERWOOD - Keys and Vocals
JIM HEYWOOD - Drums and Vocals

There may be an added special guest on a few performances stage and venue funding permitting.

After seeing a really good cover band the standard bar is raised so high that many other bands are a tad ho hum- check the watch can I go home yet?
The Central Coast has been and indeed, is still, the birthing ground for some brilliantly talented bands. Both original and cover bands.
The standard bar is about to be raised methinks, to a level that we have not seen in quite a long time - consider yourself on high alert.

Red Alert is an experienced combination of some of the Central Coast's Cream of the Crop musicians and I was more than keen to accept an invite to the rehearsal after hearing the line up.

RUSSELL HULL: Russell Hull has been around the Coast for many years, singing and playing both on live stage and in bands. His history includes The Busy Boys and The Phones to name a few.
I used to wonder how Russ was going to make the successful transition from Oklahoma! to Oz Rock but he has progressed quite well. His vocal range lends more authenticity of sound to some of the songs that I heard the boys play the other night.

MICK KING: Mick has been in the Australian live music scene for many years. His CV includes such Aussie greats as The Wendy Matthews Band, Absent Friends, The Jimmy Barnes Band and if I heard correctly, The Richard Clapton Band. Mick is a local icon in the industry and is one of those quietly humble great Australian guitar players. Mick also runs the Lizottes Jam on Sunday afternoons at Lizottes at Kincumber.

ADAM LANG: There would be very few local live music fans that would not have found themselves in the aural arena of this amazingly talented musician. Best known for his magical bass guitar and (if you have been lucky enough) banjo, Adam has recently picked up on all kinds of instruments. His history on the Central Coast include The Button Mushrooms, The Transit Lounge and Hitchcock's Regret, supporting, more recently, Toni Collette and The Church.

DAVID UNDERWOOD: Best known as "Krusty" from the Button Mushrooms, David has had legendary status on the Central Coast for many years. His phenomenal ability to identify a single note amongst all others is local folk lore. David's musical history spans a couple of decades from The Scott Finney Band and Upfront to The Mushies, The Woodies and The Outsiders.

MATT McHUGH: Matt has been involved in the music industry since he was a young lad both from in front of and behind the mic. Matt is well known on the Central Coast, not only for his drumming in the Busy Boys but also the drive time radio personality on Star 104.5 FM - Central Coast. Matt has played and so many songs in bands and on the air there will be very few that he doesn't know.

The debut performance of The RED ALERT BAND will be in the Scenic Lounge at The Central Coast Leagues Club on Saturday April 14 from 8pm. Entry is free.

If you would like to be a part of this exciting first night fun, mark it in your diary now - I can guarantee, from what I have witnessed thus far, you will not be disappointed.
